"I have trained with Matt for almost 4 years now and he has helped me grow as a goalkeeper exponentially. Whether it has been little details with my footwork or positioning, Matt has always found a way to help me improve as not only a goalkeeper but as soccer player. Even when I tore my ACL he was able to help me take a step back and focus on the the basics. This allowed me to become a better player while allowing me to regain strength and trust in my knee. This ultimately was a blessing in disguise because I can 100 percent say that I am a much better player after my injury. This is entirely because of how Matt prepared and helped me while I was coming back from injury. Once I was fully cleared to play again, Matt did everything he could to find the right college for me. As a former collegiate goalkeeper and coach, Matt has the resources and knowledge to determine what college will suit you and your needs the best. As a result, he helped me reach out to college coaches and advocated why I deserve to be on their team. This made it so much easier to find the right school because I had Matt helping me every step of the way. Since the beginning, Matt has been honest with me and has told me what I need to get better at in order to get where I want to be. With that being said I would not be where I am today without him."
"Matt was one of the best goalkeeper coaches I’ve had the privilege to train with. I always felt that I got exponentially better throughout the seasons that he coached me, and I looked forward to training with him because his practices were a lot of work but also lots of fun. As someone who is pretty self-critical during practices, he made me feel like I was allowed to make mistakes and would help me correct them. Now that I’m done playing soccer I find myself missing his training sessions! He’s an amazing coach on and off the field. I highly recommend training with him!”
"We don’t have words to thank Matt Montayne for all the goalkeeper training for our son Ricky. He taught him to work hard, to be persistent and to never give up on his dream. He raised his self esteem after previous coaches had pushed it down and taught him to trust in himself. He has not only been a coach, but a leader, a friend, a parent to Ricky and a member of our family to us. His knowledge and the way he coaches his players is amazing and the love and respect that he gives each player is indescribable. For Matt the sky is the limit if you work hard and apply everything that he teaches you. Thank you Matt for everything you do!!"
"I trained and coached with Matt for 5 years. Working and training with Matt and all the amazing MGK Academy coaches made me an All-American goalkeeper with multiple records to my name at Midwestern State University. I was tested physically and technically as well as mentally, which made me a better goalkeeper overall. Matt and I played at the same university, one of the best D2 soccer programs in the country. The amount of character built during training and game like scenarios translates to in game performance, which is where Matt helped me the most. I wouldn’t have made it to where I am today without Matt. If you want to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a better goalkeeper and achieve goals that seem distant, then train with MGK Academy."
"I cannot recommend MGK Academy enough!! My daughter has been in the program for a little over a year. She is definitely a different player from when she started with MGK.
Matt and Trey have a great program. They are extremely knowledgeable and tailor the drills to improve and bring out the best in their players. They understand your players strengths and weaknesses and work with them to reach their goals. They are both very positive, very supportive, and dedicated to making their goalkeepers better each practice.
If you are looking for coaches who will develop your goalkeeper to the next level, look no further!!"
"We’ve had the good fortune to work with Matt for the past 6 years, just as our 10 year-old daughter was going into full time goalkeeping. While she had the mindset of a GK, we knew that she needed to learn the foundations at an early age. Today, as a 16 year old navigating her college search process, she consistently gets feedback that her technique and footwork are hands down on point. Matt has the ability to find the smallest adjustments to make the biggest improvements. He’s been not only a wonderful coach for our daughter, but also a valued friend and trusted advisor."
"Our daughter (currently 13) has worked with Matt and Trey for a little over a year. She had been with her previous keeper coach for many years, so this was a big leap for all of us. We are so thankful we made the change! Her skills not only improve over the course of a training, but they transfer to game time scenarios which proves to us she has actually retained the information and can apply what she has learned. We are excited to see what the next year brings!"
"Working with Matt and Trey at MGK over the past year has definitely changed me as a goalkeeper and soccer player. Through constantly teaching me ways to improve both my technical and tactical skills, they have helped me become better each practice. The motivation, college recruiting assistance, and positive attitude they give me are just a few of the reasons this is some of the best training I’ve ever had."
